Neutron Grants Program Batch #3 — Leap Wallet

Thesis

We have decided to award a 20,000 USDC grant to Leap Wallet, one of the leading wallets to interact with the Cosmos. The grant will go to improving the bridging experience for Neutron as the Leap team works with us to build out a custom bridging interface and solution to fix some of the issues we have identified with onboarding users to Neutron. We want it to be as easy as possible to bridge into Neutron and we believe this grant will help us accomplish this.

Summary

Coinhall is one of the leading wallets for interacting with Cosmos chains and provides a seamless interface for doing so. Features Leap Wallet supports include IBC transfers, in-wallet staking & rewards, chain-specific features, governance, DeFi, and more, supported across 50+ chains.

Grant Deliverables

The deliverables are as follows:

• Leveraging the Elements SDK, Neutron can offer a newer, more polished bridging experience that supports bridging to Neutron from EVM chains and other Cosmos chains. Features include:
  • One-click swaps of EVM assets to NTRN, powered by Squid and Skip.
  • One-click swaps of Cosmos assets to NTRN, powered by Skip.
  • IBC unwinding of NTRN from other chains back to Neutron.
  • Utilization of UI customization capabilities in the Elements SDK to align with Neutron’s existing UI and design system.
  • Direct on-ramping to NTRN, powered by Kado (once Kado supports it).
• Leap is prioritizing the following new features for Neutron in Elements, to be included in the grant scope:
  • v2.1: a combined bridge + swap flow, as requested by the Neutron team.
  • v2.2: additional UI customizations and functionalities requested by the team, enabling a fully Neutron-themed UI experience.
  • v3: an enhanced version of the combined bridge + swap flow that will allow users to simply connect one or more EVM/Cosmos/Solana wallets and display all source assets across all chains to pick from (removing the need for users to pick source chain entirely).

For Milestone 1 completion, the criteria are as follows:

• Completion of Elements v2.2

For Milestone 2 completion, the criteria are as follows:

• Completion of Elements v3

Grant Payment Terms

• Upfront Payment: 1,000 USDC
• Milestone 1 Payment: 9,000 USDC
• Milestone 1 Payment: 10,000 USDC
